The Jewish living program is an integral part of the JCC Maccabi Camp Kingswood experience. Jewish themes are presented through dance, arts and crafts, theatre, and the JCC Maccabi ArtsFest, an in-depth opportunity to explore the arts with peers and established artists and performers. Teen campers are eligible to participate in the JCC Maccabi Games and in JCC Maccabi Israel, the ultimate Israel travel program. Informal discussions help campers grow and reflect on their Judaism. Israeli counselors lead our Israel Day, and teach campers about Israel through games, crafts and other activities; special guests expose campers to our rich heritage.
Even Color War activities have a Jewish accent!
Blessings are said before and after each meal. Friday evening and Saturday morning Shabbat services include traditional prayers as well as creative songs, readings, poems and skits. The warmth and beauty of the day are celebrated with an afternoon of relaxed, free-choice programs, culminating in Havdalah services before the evening activities.
Bar/Bat Mitzvah tutoring is available.
