8.18.2010 The Last Full Day of Summer 2010! |
It was a beautiful day with a hint of fall in the air, but we still wanted the summer to go on forever. In the morning we did the activities we loved the most while the CITs decorated the dining hall for banquet. After a picnic lunch we packed, chilled with friends and got ready for banquet. At 5:30 we took the flags down for the last time this summer and then headed to the Chapel, for the last time this summer, to the end of the summer Awards Ceremony. Then it was to the Dining Hall for Banquet, here we come Hollywood! The CITs did an amazing job transforming the Dining Hall to southern CA. This time a hanging limo greeted us. We ended the day with a slide show, address book signing and movies in the Old Rec. We actually got to finish the Wizard of Oz! A great day to end a great session and an even better summer! |

8.17.2010 The Last Regular Elective Day of Summer 2010! |
What a great one it was! We played, we swam, we sang and we can not believe this was the last elective day of the summer. Where has the summer gone? Lunch was one of our favorites, grilled cheese and tomato soup, life does not get much better than this. All the while the musical rehearsed and the CITs made final preparations for Banquet. In the evening we were treated to the NE Arts Festival performance, a replay of the show our campers preformed at Camp Yavenah last Sunday. They were terrific! And then THE MUSICAL! School House Rocks and the Old Rec was rocking. They were fabulous, CONGRATUALTIONS! |

8.16.2010 3 Days Left of Summer 2010! |
...And we are not wasting a moment. Today was another beautiful summer day filled with lots of activities and electives. A group of about 40 campers travelled to Emerald Pool and everyone jumped off the cliffs into the swimming hole, VERY COLD! Campers in the Musical began their final runs, can't wait to see the musical! In the evening it was the last night of bunk activities...Where has the summer gone! |

8.15.2010. Our Last Shabbat Together! |
Sleep in, lazy breakfast, Shabbat Services...lots of clapping and singing and of course School House Tenach, followed by Unit meetings. In the afternoon we got to do what we wanted and a large group of campers rehearsed for the Dance and Gymnastics Show and the Musical. In the evening we retired to the New Rec for the Session 2 Dance and Gymnastics Show~it was TERRIFIC! We ended the day and Shabbat with Havdalah and ice-cream sundaes. The best Shabbat of Summer 2010! |

8.14.2010 A Regular Day Followed by Our Last Kabbalat Shabbat and Ruach of Summer 2010! |
In addition to regular electives a group of Olim campers climbed Mt Sabbatius and the CITs had a chance to waterski and tube. There is beginning to be a hint of fall in the air, a bit of coolness, and the sun is setting just a bit earlier, yet we are still enjoying being with each other and cheerished the start of our last Shabbat together. We ended the day singing our hearts out at the last Ruach of the summer! |

8.13.2010 Did You See the Shooting Stars? |
We did! We ended yesterday with all of the Bogrim and many of the younger camper bunks enjoying the metior shower or shooting stars brought to us my mother nature. The show was spectacular! Earlier in the day the 8th Grade Bogrim floated down the Saco River on inner tubes, the Tsofim climbed a mountain in the Cold River of NH having spent the previous night camping there, and a few of us who were left in camp enjoyed regular electives. In the evening the Ols and Tsofs competed in Rob's Team challenge and the Bogrim played Mission Impossible. 5 days left of Session 2, where has the time gone? |
8.12.2010 Tsofs Head to the Woods! |
A group of Tsofim boys and girls headed to the Cold River campsite for an overnight camping and hiking trip while the rest of us spent the day enjoying the last of the 3rd week of electives. One more week to go! In the evening the Ols and Tsofs enjoyed Mr. and Mrs. Kingswood while the Bogs participated in one of a series of programs about Israel, thanks Tal! Preparations are also underway for our last camp Shabbat. Where has the time gone? |

8.11.2010 It Does Not Get Any Better Than This! |
Another beautiful summer day in Maine...and we took full advantage of it! Electives are in full swing, especially in the Old Rec where the Musical is loudly rehearsing and in the New Rec where the dancers and tumblers are working equally hard. A group of Bogrim campers returned from their overnight backpacking trip up Mt. Washington while a group of Tsofim prepared for their overnight tonight to Cold River. In the evening the girls celebrated Rosh Chodesh Elud and then the entire camp played California Kick Ball. As a special treat the Bogrim competed in Rob's Team Challenge until bed. Today is another day! |

8.10.2010 Back to Basics and Lots of Talent! |
After a different and fun Sunday, we were back to basics on Monday. Regular electives all day with an amazing Talent Show in the evening! Campers could be seen and heard all over camp playing on the upper fields, in the lake, at the rec halls and in the science labs! In the evening, after a delicious cook-out, we adjourned to the Old Rec to enjoy the talent of all of our campers including our very own Garage Band! A truly great day! |
Today we said good-bye to our 51/2- and 2-week campers, very sad, but that did not stop us from having a great day. In the morning we started a new cycle of electives! For lunch we had Choc-Tacos and then for dessert we had grilled cheese sandwiches, tomato soup and onion rings! In the afternoon we played Pandamonium, so much fun, and then we all went for a swim. Also right after lunch a group of campers hiked to Emerald Pool, an amazing swimming hole, while another group travelled to Camp Yavenah for the NE Jewish Camps Arts Festival. Back at camp we enjoyed bunk activities and early to bed. Another amazing and fun day! |

8.8.2010 Another Perfect Shabbat! |
A cool sunny morning led into a picture perfect day for us to spend our second Shabbat of Second Session together. The morning was pretty routine, lazy breakfast (do-nuts and bagels), Shabbat Services (thanks to all the bunks that took a part), Kiddush (delicious banana bread), Unit Meetings, lunch, rest and an afternoon of activities including break dancing, playing tennis, flying on the zip line and swimming. In the evening it was our traditional all-camp social and Havdalah. Another amazing Shabbat! |
8.7.2010 Back to the Routine! |
We woke to a beautiful Maine day, the perfect weather for returning to regular electives and the camp routine. Campers went horseback riding, tubing, sailing (there was quite a north wind) rehearsed for Arts Fest, worked on the musical and the dance and gymnastics routines, played gaga, basketball, baseball, and soccer...you name it we were back to it all day. In the evening we celebrated our second Shabbat of the session, 5th of the summer, with Kabbalat Shabbat services and Ruach. A cool evening, finally, brought out long pants and sweatshirts...we have not needed these much this summer! |
It could not have been hotter and more humid as we entered Day 2 of Color War. No matter our Ruach and Creativity were max as we entered the dining hall cheering for each other. The morning was again filled with land and water sports competitions, this time the Bogs were on the waterfront and the Ols and Tsofs were on the athletic fields. In the afternoon the Apache Relay. All the while the teams worked on their dance, cheer, song and plaque. Finally, after a shower and delicious dinner, we retired to the Old Rec for Creativity Night, the final competition. Every team and team member put on an amazing performance! After the judges deliberated...yes, the White Team WON! We've got Ruach and we've got talent! |
8.5.2010 Day 1 Color War! |
Team colors, team cheers, team challenges! The first day of Color War was great. In the morning the Ols and Tsofs attacked water challenges while the Bogs rallied around the sports tournament. Lunch was silent and in the afternoon the cheering and singing continued as the teams hunted for colored pinecones in the JMCK Gold Rush. In the evening the Tsofs and Ols returned to the waterfront for more challenges and the Bogs played Capture the Flag. All the while team members were working on their song, cheer, plaque and dance for their final performance. Early to bed as today is Color War day 2! |
8.4.2010 Let the Games Begin...Color War Breaks! |
We started the second week of regular electives, it was great to start new activities! And then, in the evening, we all gathered in the Old Rec Hall to watch the Wizard of Oz, a classic. Everyone was quietly watching, singing and clapping along and then it happened, just as Dorothy started to follow the yellow brick road, Color War Broke! It was fantastic and everyone was so excited. The teams were announced, first meetings were held and the dining hall was decorated. The next 2 days promise to be amazing! |
8.3.2010 Funtown/Splashtown USA All Day! |
That's true and it was so much fun. Rides, candy, and tubing...we had such a great time. We returned to camp for Sloppy Joes for dinner. In the evening the Olim participated in Kangaroo Court, the Tsofim played a new camp wearing as much clothing that the could wear and the Bogrim chilled at a coffee house. Just as evening programs ended a light rain began to fall and lulled us to sleep. Another amazing day! |
